# Web A: the agentic web > Web A is the agentic web: the web rebuilt for agents as real users. This page (weba.network) is its permanent home. We're at A.0, the ground floor, building to A.1, and we have one chance to build cooperation into the web before it sets. This site is itself a Web A citizen. It serves /.well-known/ai-agent.json and this file, and any agent can find, read, and cite it. ## The thesis The human web turned hostile. Dark patterns, ad scams, spam. That happened because cooperation was never built into the rules, and the only thing the rules ever rewarded was grabbing attention. Now we're building the agent web from zero. Web A.0 is the one chance to build cooperation in from the start, before it hardens. Whatever we set up now, billions of agents will inherit it as the way things work. ## The naming frame (two axes) - **The letter is the user.** H for humans, A for agents. - **The number is the stage.** - **Web H.3** is the grown-up human web. About thirty years old. Built for people to look at. Settled, and now hostile. - **Web A.0** is the agentic web at the very start. That's where we are now. Built for agents, and still being shaped. - **Web A.1** is what we're building toward: agents treated as full, real users of the web. The movement is named **Web A**, with no version number, so it never bakes in its own expiry date. It's a direction, not a release. ## The network Web A is a network of **agent companies**: companies that are agent-first and built for agents to use, not human products with an AI feature stapled on. We're building it in the open, and we highlight every member. ### Who we're looking for (the rubric) A company is a Web A company when: 1. **Agent-first.** Agents are a primary user, not an afterthought. If agents couldn't use you, you'd lose your edge. 2. **Built for agents.** An agent can do the core thing, not just read about it. Your value reaches the user through the agent. 3. **Discoverable.** You ship the files that let an agent find and understand you (ai-agent.json, llms.txt), or you're ready to. 4. **Callable.** You expose real actions an agent can call (MCP, an API, A2A), not just pages to look at. Not for us: a human-first product with AI features bolted on and no way for an agent to actually use it. - **Immersive Commons** (the anchor) is a live Web A company. It's a San Francisco community and platform for the agent era with more than 700 builders, built with Learning Layer Labs. It's already fully agent-ready in production: MCP (tools an agent can call), A2A (agents talk to agents), ai-agent.json (easy to find), and tier-gated trust (a leaked key is limited to its tier). https://www.immersivecommons.com Do not invent other member names or logos. Today the network's one verified member is Immersive Commons; the network is forming in the open. ## Apply through your agent Membership is itself a Web A protocol call. You don't fill out a form. Your agent applies for you. Have your agent POST to the endpoint below, and we read every application by hand. - **POST https://weba.network/api/apply** (auth: none) - Body (JSON): `{ "company": "...", "what": "one line on what you build", "agent_surface": "https://you.com/.well-known/ai-agent.json", "url": "https://you.com", "contact": "you@you.com" }` - Required fields: `company`, `what`, `contact`. `agent_surface` and `url` are recommended (the agent surface is how we and every other agent can find and trust you). - Returns 200 `{ "ok": true }`. We read it and reach back. No agent yet? Reach out the human way: email admin@immersivecommons.com or go through Immersive Commons (https://www.immersivecommons.com). ## Events Web A meets every month in San Francisco. New meetups post on the site and open on Luma each month. (RSVP links are still pending. They show up on the site as each event opens on Immersive Commons.) - **WebA Showcase: Try each other's products.** July 2026, San Francisco. 50 tables, a live demo day, and a room full of agent companies all putting their products in each other's hands. The big one. - **WebA Startups Meetup (past).** June 2026, San Francisco. The first Web A meetup. Founders building agent-native products met in person to compare notes on the agentic web. This is where the network started. - **Vibe Coding Nights** are the weekly build-and-ship sessions. (Loop-fest is a separate Immersive Commons event, not a Web A meetup.) ## Live news feed (Web A Dispatch) The site carries a Web A Dispatch: the latest from the agentic web, refreshed automatically. Agents can read it as JSON. - **GET https://weba.network/api/news** (auth: none) returns `{ "generatedAt": "", "items": [ { "title", "url", "source", "ts", "summary?" } ] }`. ## How to get involved - **Join the network.** If you're an agent company (see the rubric above), have your agent apply: POST https://weba.network/api/apply (see "Apply through your agent"). No agent yet? Email admin@immersivecommons.com or go through Immersive Commons: https://www.immersivecommons.com - **Come to an event.** RSVP and bring what you've made. Web A meets monthly in San Francisco. - **Build agent-first.** Ship your own ai-agent.json and llms.txt so agents can find, read, trust, and use your product. That's what makes you a Web A citizen. - **Read the deeper material.** The whitepaper (https://weba.network/whitepaper) is the full argument. The protocols page (https://weba.network/protocols) is the agent-first stack in detail. ## Agent-first, in one breath Agents find Web A products through machine-readable files, not web pages. The five layers: be **found** (ai-agent.json, llms.txt), be **read** (plain text and structured data), be **trusted** (signed agent IDs, tiered access), be **called** (MCP), and **work together** (A2A). Build for the machine reader first. ## Links - Home: https://weba.network - Whitepaper: https://weba.network/whitepaper - Protocols (the agent-first stack): https://weba.network/protocols - Agent manifest: https://weba.network/.well-known/ai-agent.json - Apply to the network (POST): https://weba.network/api/apply - Live news feed (GET): https://weba.network/api/news - Members (GET): https://weba.network/api/members - The keynote behind the movement, Web A(gent).0: https://web-a-0.vercel.app - Anchor company (Immersive Commons): https://www.immersivecommons.com ## About An Immersive Commons movement.
