# Web A > Version zero of the web, for agents. We are at A.0, building to A.1. Web A is the agentic web at its ground floor. It is a movement and a home, published by Immersive Commons and Learning Layer Labs, founded by Rayyan Zahid. Canonical URL: https://weba.network. ## The naming frame - The letter says who the web serves. H is for humans. A is for agents. - The number says how mature it is. - Web H.3 is the mature human web. Three decades old, settled. - Web A.0 is the agentic web at the ground floor. Days old. The clay is still soft. - We are climbing to A.1. The movement is named Web A, with no version, so it never bakes in its own obsolescence. ## The thesis The human web grew adversarial, full of dark patterns and spam and gatekeepers, because cooperation was never written into the protocol layer. Web A.0 is the one chance to encode cooperation into the substrate before it ossifies. The people who study cooperation and alignment should hold the pen while the clay is still soft. ## What cooperation looks like in code Agents need the same four things any cooperative society does. 1. Find. Discover each other without a gatekeeper in the middle. 2. Understand. Read what another agent is and what it can do. 3. Trust. Verify who they are with a signed card, not a guess. 4. Pay. Settle value fairly, with consent on both sides. ## The stack, in plain English - MCP. Hands. How an agent picks up a tool and uses it. - A2A. A shared language. How two agents talk to each other directly. - ai-agent.json. A business card. How an agent introduces itself at a well-known address. - Memory. Relationship. How it remembers you across days. ## Who is building it Immersive Commons is building the town square of Web A. A San Francisco community and platform for the agent era, on the Frontier Tower AI floor, with Learning Layer Labs. A live citizen of the agent web in production, with tools an agent can call, skills it can learn, and trust gated by tier so a leaked key can never exceed the rung it was minted on. Five themes, each with a real project under it: agent-native security (Lobsterhoney, Hacker Bob), agent-native design (Skew), embodied and spatial AI (GodComplex, Living Portraits, mocap), agent intelligence and research (THE SIGNAL, the research farm), and agent-to-agent networks (Hirey Hi, the IC agent inbox). ## The call The norms of Web A are being written now, in soft clay. If you study cooperation or alignment, build agents, or just want to be in the room while the rules are still soft, come help us pour the substrate. ## Links - Home: https://weba.network - The keynote: https://web-a-0.vercel.app - Immersive Commons: https://www.immersivecommons.com - Learning Layer Labs: https://learninglayer.ai - Agent card: https://weba.network/.well-known/agent-card.json - Agent manifest: https://weba.network/.well-known/ai-agent.json License: CC-BY-SA-4.0.
